Yesterday we went to waimangu valley to see where an explosion happend in the mid 1800s! It was a beautiful place but it was once destroyed and covered in hot mud. There was no life found. Now it is a beautiful attraction filled with the hottest pools and wildlife that can only survive in that hot environment. Next we went to the Maori village to learn about the culture. We were greeted pleasantly and ate wonderful food at the end like duck, fish, lamb, and vegetables! We also learned how to play the games they learned growing up and how those games developed your societal means inside the tribe. For example, if you’re good at the games you may be chosen to be a warrior. We learned about their medicinal plants and which ones help with pain and the heart. Then learned about the tattoos and how you get them as you age. It was a wonderful day!
