Hi, I’m Duncan Charboneau. I am a graduating senior double majoring in environmental and political science. I am from Durham, North Carolina. Throughout my time at Whittier College, I have been passionate about studying environmental issues. I have worked in partnership with Dr.Fissore, the Specialty Coffee Association, and the Chain Collaborative on research through Whittier College focusing on carbon emissions in the coffee industry in the paper titled Carbon and Coffee: GHG Emission Reductions Progress and Strategies Across the Value Chain. I am a part of the political science honors society Pi Sigma Alpha. I have also participated as a part of model un for four years and participated this year as a chair in the Model UN World Health Assembly. I have also briefly swam on the Whittier College swim team during my time at Whittier. I am excited to go on this trip to New Zealand, and I hope to learn about the environmental and political landscape of New Zealand. Particularly I am most excited to Learn about Maori culture and sustainability efforts within New Zealand cities and communities. I am also a fan of lord of the Rings and am excited to visit some of the locations.
