waimangu valley and māori culture

we went to waimangu valley to see volcanos. i found this interesting learning about how long they have been around and seeing what was created after the explosion of the volcano. i thought the site was beautiful looking at the different colors of the water and the lakes. i also found it interesting the lakes reached 140-180 degrees. that evening, we were welcomed by the māori, where we were provided with a traditional dinner and introduced to their culture. we played their traditional games and we listened to their music. this was a great experience and i was surprised with how welcoming they were to us.
