Te Papa is a landmark building in the heart of Wellington with pretty neat views of the harbor. It took 4 years to complete the museum
In February 2007, the crew of the San Aspiring get the surprise of their lives when they haul up a huge colossal squid on the end of a longline. The colossal squid is now one of the exhibitions at Te Papa and a big one of the main attractions at Te Papa.
I read that Te Papa tries to be as eco-friendly as they can. Since starting they’re energy reduction plan they have saved 14,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalents. They have a recycling progamme, water conversation and eco-friendly building and cleaning products. Te Papa has won the EnergyWise award in 2000, 2004 and 2007 proving how environmentally friendly they are.
