We started our day at the sky city hotel, listening to the presentation. The topics on sustainability which the presenter talked about seemed very pressing and important to the company, yet it was interesting how he was the only one working on these issues. It also stood out that with the goals and objectives of the company changing, the work and the efforts of the presenter must change as well. After the Sky City Hotel, myself and a few others took the bus to Mount Eden, which is a dormant volcano with beautiful views. From there we walked to Eden Garden, proclaiming themselves as “Auckland’s Best Kept Secret”. I learned that the many large divots found on Mount Eden were used to store the food of the people who used to live there. I also learned how certain plants in the garden were protected and preserved.
