This morning we visited the Te Papa Tongarewa museum. I was surprised to see it was actually free entry and we did not have to pay for anything. This would never be the case back in the states. I found this extremely interesting. We first checked out the war exhibit it felt real. This told stories about WW1 and explained what role New Zealand played in it. I enjoy learning about history and this was a great place to do it. They had giant wax statues representing the New Zealand army and gear. After this exhibit we went over to the other side to look at some of the animals. They had statues of animals and fish that were extinct however used to be native to this area. Another cool thing we did was try the earthquake stimulator. I learned that earthquakes are actually quite common in this part of the world due to the plate boundaries and where New Zealand is located relative to these subduction zones. Overall this was a great experience and my group really enjoyed it.
