The Te Papa Museum was built because of The Te Papa Tongarewa Act of 1992. This act means that the museum was assigned the task of collecting information from archives to preserve and educate the cultural heritage and ecology of New Zealand. The museum has many floors ranging from art pieces to bones from prehistoric animals.
We went through exhibits that projected simulations onto walls and large sculptures of notable people from wars and even a house that simulated an earthquake. This museum contains a wide range of information that preserves all the heritage of New Zealand.
