Victoria Wellington University

Today we visited Victoria University of Wellington. We learned about sustainability initiatives that the university is taking. I loved learning about the worm compost bins and seeing it in action. I wish Whittier would do something similar. I also thought that it was cool that the cafes at the school try to only use reusable mugs but I did notice that other food options on campus did still use plastic. Overall, I thought todays visit to the university was eye opening, especially seeing how many sustainability initiatives that are taking place. After hearing from the sustainability director Andrew, I wish Whittier would also have some sort of sustainability director/manager, so that sustainability projects that don’t fully depend on students could be started.
