Sanford and Sons is New Zealand’s oldest fishmonger. They have been supplying ‘Kiwis’ with fish in the Auckland Fish Market since 1800s. Albert Sanford -the founder- went on to open his first fish market in Auckland in 1894. Today, Sanford and Sons Fishmonger is still the heart of The Auckland Fish Market, operating as a sustainable company. Sustainability sits at the heart of their business as the sustainability manger claims – it is fundamental to their connection with New Zealand and the growth of their business. Sanford is aware of our environmental, economic and social choices and that those choices have an impact; now and in the future. They are committed to a sustainable future for their business and stakeholders and communities. Sanford’s vision is to better as a fishmonger through sustainable growth following the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Sanford fishery was….fishy. But it was nice to learn about their new technologies and aspirations to sustaining their company in healthy paths for the environment.
You know what’s sustainable? Not fishing.
