Today started off early with a ferry ride to Waiheke Island. It was a very rainy and windy boat ride but the views were beautiful nonetheless. When we arrived at Waiheke Island, I bought a hot chocolate to defrost a bit and waited for a representative from the Waiheke Resource Trust. We then went on an excursion through the Waiheke wooded areas where I planted 4 trees. It was exciting to be a part of something special like rebuilding the natural beauty of Waiheke. It was a little tiring and my heel felt like they were blistering from rubbing against my boot but it was an amazing opportunity that I hope to do again one day. Our next stop was the Mudbrick Vineyards for some wine tasting. The name was fitting since every one of us was covered in mud from our tree-planting efforts. I have never been wine tasting before so to be able to go for the first time in Waiheke Island, NZ was crazy. From there lunch was fantastic and I had a great time on the island despite the rough weather.
