Waiheke Island

Today we went to Waiheke island and learned more about sustainability through planting trees, vineyards and the wine making process, as well as everyday ways of life for people in the island. One thing that stood out to me was the people on the island collect water in rain barrels and recycling is a big part of life. Restoring the natural area and maintaining the land’s natural resources is important for longevity of not only people but the planet.
